Pedalo Balance Board 'Receptor'
Details
The unique Pedalo-Balance Board ‘Receptor’ is exercised without shoes. The knobs integrated into the standing surface act as mechanical stimulators. The resulting increased pressure on the receptors, located on the sole of the foot, improves the reception of stimuli, and increases the input information to the central nervous system. The pressure distribution of the body weight on the standing surface of the individual foot is felt much more strongly and clearly by the user. This allows not only better feel and sense the own standing posture and foot placing, but also correct it in a comprehensible manner and so achieve greater training success. Exercises with closed eyes inevitably lead to improved attention and concentration on our other sensory organs. In this context, proprioceptive perception is of particular importance. There is a high density of receptors on the sole of the foot. Therefore, training with the Pedalo-Balance Board ‘Receptor’ with open as well as closed eyes is very effective to improve sensorimotor function. The included ball track, which is held with both hands and always horizontally while standing on the Pedalo-Balance Board ‘Receptor’, additionally draws attention to the eye-hand-hand coordination. If the eyes are closed during this exercise execution, we place maximum demands on our ability to balance. A combination of two exercises with maximum training effect is given.
